                                                                          shimmering fire-flies

The Haiku is written for the audio prompt given by dear friend Ravish Mani who created this on special request despite his illness!
So glad to see you back :)

  1. Beautiful combination of longing and passion. Love is both: Soft rose petals and piercing thorns together. A lady in love feels both together when she thinks of her beloved, who is far away. She couldn’t control her pangs of love. She starts dancing. Her intensity increases at the thought of her beloved. She is dancing like a candle flame. And her mental state is that of a shimmering fire-fly.

  7. Loved the fireflies! A teeny-tiny being! In love with something unattainable and perishing in its quest! Is it cursed to shed its life in fruitless and doomed quest or blessed to die for immortal love? Rhetorics, rhetorics!

It's achingly beautiful and romantic, Kokila!

    1. Thanks a million for your beautiful words, which have given poignancy to mine !
I'll never know if someone's curse is like a blessing unadorned for the other :) but just that love, even the unreturned one , like fireflies , is fascinating and glows best when the world around you goes dark :)

    2. I agree, ma'am. The fatheadedness of the daring fireflies is always applauded in history. A fitting epitaph of dedication.

  12. Beautiful with the fireflies. Here's what I have to add in hindi- पिघलते मोम ओर घटते वक़्त मे तो सभी ने इश्क़ को कैद किया गर इस जलती मोम की लो मे इंतज़ार और इकरार को इस हाइकू ने ही है पेश किया.
